The walk-in

On Wednesdays, from 10:30 until 14:00 hours, volunteers welcome anyone who enters the lower hall of the Scots International Church Rotterdam at the Schiedamse Vest, entrance Schiedamse Singel. All uprooted people in the centre of the city of Rotterdam are welcome: strangers, wanderers and poor people. The volunteers make them feel at home and listen to their stories. Available are:

  • tea and coffee
  • a warm meal
  • a listening ear
  • practical advices
  • advice regarding the municipality
  • help with letters
  • help with Dutch and English languages
  • fresh products with a valid sell-by date to take away

Mamre provides “tailor-made” help in individual cases. Expansion of the activities in a more structural way is subject to discussion in the Board of Mamre. This depends, however, on a more solid financial background and increase of volunteers.
